University Eye Center Patient Parking Information

There are three parking options for UC Optometry Patients:

 

1. Parking in Optometry Designated Spaces at  Minor Hall - Optometry permit required - $3 for up to 3 hours.

2. Parking at Maxwell Parking Structure - validation required - $2 for up to 3 hours.

  1. Parking in Optometry Designated Spaces at Minor Hall- $3 with permit

Parking at Minor Hall, per the UC Berkeley Parking and Transportation Office, requires an Optometry parking permit During weekdays obtain a permit from our parking attendant and park alongside Minor Hall n any of our designated Optometry (OPT) spaces. Parking in a space that is not Optometry designated will result in a parking citation from campus Parking and Transportation.  Detach the bottom perforated portion of the permit and present it at our Patient Services front desk for payment. Place the matching top portion of the permit in your vehicle, clearly displayed on your dashboard. A valid parking permit must be displayed in your vehicle at all times while visiting the University Eye Center.

On Saturdays and Sundays, and anytime the parking attendant is unavailable, Optometry parking permits can be obtained from our Patient Services staff at our front desk.  Park alongside our building - Minor Hall Addition - in any of our designated Optometry (OPT) spaces. Parking in a space that is not Optometry designated will result in a parking citation from campus Parking and Transportation.

 

  1. Parking in the Maxwell Parking Structure - $2 with Validation

In addition to our parking around Minor Hall, there are spaces reserved for Optometry Patients in the Maxwell parking structure by Memorial stadium. Maxwell parking structure is located at 2175 Gayley Road in Berkeley, adjacent to Memorial Stadium (at the corner of Gayley and Stadium Rim Way.) Upon entry to the Maxwell Garage, collect the white entry card and park in one of our reserved spaces, located on the ground floor, in the NE corner.  

Present your white entry card at check-out to purchase a validation ticket. Validation tickets are good for up to 3 hours of parking and cost $2. Parking rates without validation start at $3.00 per hour. When returning to your vehicle, find a parking payment kiosk and insert the white entry card first. Once your card has been read and accepted, insert the validation ticket. Parking under 3 hours will require no additional cost. Use your validated card to exit the garage.

 

  1. Street Parking - metered or free

The City of Berkeley offers a variety of free and metered parking options at a variety of walking distances to our clinic.  The University Eye Center has no relationship with the City of Berkeley regarding parking and bears no responsibility for the use of these spaces.
